BENEFITS OF LED LANDSCAPE LIGHT BULBS

There are more reasons to switch to LED bulbs other than the savings.

#1 Cost savings

Though LED lights could cost you more up front, the long term savings make up for it. LED bulbs don’t use nearly the same amount of energy as incandescent or halogen bulbs. The technology in today’s LEDs are 7 times more energy efficient, cutting your usage by 80%+.

“In 2012, approximately 49 million LEDs were installed in the U.S., saving about $675 million in annual energy costs, according to Energy.gov. Switching entirely to LED lights over the next two decades could save the U.S. $250 billion in energy costs, reduce electricity consumption for lighting by nearly 50 percent and avoid 1,800 million metric tons of carbon emissions.”

#2 LED BULBS LAST LONGER

Every landscape lighting system requires maintenance. Throughout the year you’ll need to replace bulbs, clean lenses, etc. For LED bulb users, one less thing they have to worry about is their bulbs going out quickly. LED bulbs last 25 times longer than your halogen or incandescent bulbs.

In some instances, LEDs have a three year life span or more. That’s if you’re running your lights 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Even cleaning the lenses of LEDs are easier and requires you cleaning them less than traditional bulbs.

#3 SAFETY

LED bulbs are inherently safer because they give off less heat than the traditional bulbs. This in turn means a safer environment and lessens the chance of a fire hazard immensely.

#4 SUSTAINABILITY

Most people want to have a landscape lighting setup that is more energy efficient and eco-friendly. LED lights consume less energy and emit less heat.

We often get asked if we have the ability to use solar for our lights. While we do have the solar power pedestal, we don’t recommend any other type of solar lighting for your landscape. In fact, we receive many complaints from customers who have solar lights that want them replaced with our hard-wired lights. This is because the technology hasn’t reached a point where the solar lighting systems available on individual lights can be efficient and reliable. If you want to be more eco-friendly, simply switching to LED bulbs helps a great deal.
